Sectionals Update:
Don't forget sectionals is next saturday! 4/9 We have to leave at early to be at Ramapo by 8:00 so plan to meet in the UC at about 7:00am.
We need to work on coming up for a role call (skit or song or something to represent Pi Upsilon a.k.a. us at sectionals). Mari is planning something great but if you have any helpful ideas, send them on to her at mtimpana@drew.edu
If you are attending sectionals, bring a water gun or else....
Canned goods drive:
You will go door to door in the building you volunteered for some day next week, at your own convenience, to collect cans. Ivan will figure out a way to pick up the cans from all of you.
Change for Change collections will go to us and we will be giving th money to St. Jude's
Eric Johnson House is having a walkathon on May 1st. For those interested in walking, let Ivan know. You will be expected to collect money from sponsors.
Spring saturday (where we have an influx of possible incoming students) is on Sat. April 16th. We're preparing a table for the activities fair presentation. We need a couple of volunteers to be at the fair. Set up will be at 1:45pm and the actual fair will take place from 2:30-3:15. Those who are participating must wear your APO shirts and pins. Kristin or Mari, do you have an extra pledge book that we can show people? We have pamphlets to give out but we want to make as big of an impression as possible. We're also hoping to have a couple bookmarks or examples of things from projects we've worked on..(Ivan do we have left over candy canes or bookmark stuff to make a couple for show?) We're also planning to have 3 posters listing different things APO does/has done in ways of friendship, leadership, and service.
Pray for our troops bracelets: Circle K never sold all of their tsunami bracelets so we're thinking about not getting that many or wiating a little while before trying to sell them, fall maybe?
We will, as a group, be helping out at May day on 5/7 to help clean up madison. Us and several other organizations and individuals will be organized through the VRC to participate in this event.
First Annual Picnic is also on 5/7. We need to sponsor a cheap event to represent us at this fun event. Proposed: Pie throwing that we'd charge a small fee for. Would be a cheap thing to invest in and fun. Hopefully, we'll get good people to pie. Proposed targets: Tom Kean, Chief Evans, Akiva Rothe, and Ivan (in full punning glory).
We voted in favor of trying out the scratch-off game fundraiser. Members may be expected to contribute $20 or so to make it work and we should make back that and much more.
Other news:
We have service pins.
Our banner is on it's way.
We have a check for Vinnie's paddle
Another pledge (Kelly) dropped out of pledging (at least for this semester)
hopefully she'll come back and try in the fall!
