The Pagan Society @ Drew University

Who we are:
We are small group of fun, loveable, somewhat eccentric Drewids (and ex-Drewids) interested in connecting spiritually with nature, learning about Pagan beliefs, traditions, and practices, celebrating Pagan holidays, and educating the Drew community about Paganism.

What we do:
Our mission is to provide a supportive environment in which to learn about Paganism and practice nature-based spirituality. Meetings are generally fun, informal opportunities for exploration and connection with the Divine and each other. Our two major events are the Samhain Masquerade in the Fall and the Beltane Celebration in the Spring. This year we will also be tabling regularly in the UC.

Why we do it:
Many people in today's society either do not know that Paganism exists or are confused by the misinformation that has been spread regarding it for centuries. This can lead to religious intolerance and discrimination, which is often unintentional. We hope that by raising awareness of Paganism on campus we can work to bring an end to social influences that can make Pagans - and people from other religions - uncomfortable or even unsafe.

On a more personal level, we are spiritual seekers hoping to expand our understanding of Paganism and how we can incorporate it into our own spiritual practice. Not everyone in the Pagan Society is Pagan, but most of us have been drawn to it as part of a personal journey toward finding comfort, community, and wisdom through spirituality and religion. Interested in a leadership position on campus?

Join the Pagan Society! We need members, especially to fill the executive board. If you are interested, please join our mailing list and come to meetings (Wednesdays 7:30pm Riker 1st) as often as you can. You will learn a lot about being a club leader, which provides valuable experience that can be applied directly to your future career.
