Advice
"The best piece of advice that was given to me before I started Drew was from my pastor. She told me 'Take nothing for the journey.' Leave all your pre-conceptions behind and allow yourself to have an open heart and an open mind. No expections. Take nothing for the journey."

"Don't limit yourself, but be open to experience new things (ideas, approaches, understandings, cultures, etc.)."

"Breathe. Keep breathing. And don't forget to breathe. :) "

"Before I came to Drew, I was advised to be an open person, willing to share the knowledge I have to others. I was also advised not to take the whole of my life in my hands but to share the problems I may have with friends. My friend in Africa advised me to keep the faith even if I am challenged RATHER I should not forget my daily prayers, reading of scriptures and listening to the what the Lord is speaking to me everyday and even not forgetting to spend a certain time "FASTING" as I have been doing when I was in church. Since then this has been my way of life. Through this I believe I have learned alot from friends. YES, DREW IS A VERY LOVING, AND FRIENDLY COMMUNITY--BUT YOU HAVE TO BE THE FIRST TO BE OPEN. THROUGH THIS WAY YOU CAN LIVE LIKE A KING AT DREW, YET YOU ARE NOT ONE---BECAUSE YOU ARE ALWAYS SuRROUNDED BY SO MANY FRIENDS. TO GOD BE THE GLORY FOR THE ADVICES I RECIEVED."

"When you enter Drew, don't think of it as leaving home. Once you fall into the Theo School routine of classes, Chapel, and special events in Seminary Hall you'll realize you've extended your family beyond your wildest dreams!"
-- Darlene Resling
" Keep in mind that seminary is an academic institution, and because of
that, reading the Bible for Old Testament is *not *the same as reading
it devotionally. Keep up your spiritual disciplines; they are a key
part of your formation during your time at seminary.
There will always be work to do. So...take time off to enjoy yourself.
If you're stressed, go for a walk, or do some reading for fun. The work
will be there when you come back, but you'll at least be more refreshed
and able to tackle it in a better frame of mind.
Don't get hung up on grades. Grades are not a reflection of how well
you will do in ministry."

" RELAX. GOD'S IN CHARGE."
But perhaps that says more about my Type A personality than it does about Drew! "

" Look for a miracle everyday, and you will find one."
" Embrace change, don't battle it! "
